[Los Santos just got a whole lot more interesting, thanks to one gamer’s dedication to modding. Forget mindless mayhem; now, even the NPCs are getting a dose of justice (and politeness!).]
From Chaos to Courtesy: Modding GTA 5 for a Better World
In an ongoing quest to either create a PC version of GTA 6 or completely break GTA 5, one dedicated gamer is transforming Los Santos, one mod at a time. Forget the usual rampages and explosions; this player is injecting morality (and politeness) into the game’s inhabitants.
The “NPC Check” Mod: When Accidents Lead to Concern
The first mod, aptly named “NPC Check,” aims to make Los Santos citizens more considerate. Now, if a driver runs you over, they won’t just speed away; instead, they’ll stop, get out of their car, and check on your well-being. The gamer initially installed this hoping the NPCs would remain stationary when pursuing them for crimes, but it delivers exactly what it promises.
However, there’s a catch. You can only respond with “Yes, I’m fine,” which isn’t always the sentiment you want to express after being hit by a car. Furthermore, the ‘Y’ key, used to confirm you’re okay, is also the key to sleep in another mod, “Roleplay Alone.” This leads to hilarious situations where the gamer gets hit by cars, tries to convince drivers they’re fine, then falls asleep in the middle of the road.
“NPCs Get Wanted Stars”: Justice Served, Los Santos Style
The second mod, “NPCs Get Wanted Stars,” adds a much-needed dose of accountability. Now, when NPCs commit crimes, they earn their own wanted stars and are pursued by the police. While GTA 5’s inhabitants aren’t exactly known for random acts of criminality, this mod encourages players to… well, provoke them.
The gamer suggests running into NPCs repeatedly until they become enraged enough to throw a punch. The best location? In front of a police station. Then, sit back and watch as the 5-0 chases down their perp, cuffs them, and stands around looking bewildered about what to do next. The level of realism is truly remarkable.
This modding adventure highlights the endless possibilities within GTA 5 and offers a unique perspective on the game’s world. Whether you’re aiming for a more polite Los Santos or one where justice prevails, these mods offer a fresh and entertaining way to experience Rockstar’s classic title.
