Today I’m struck by a wave of nostalgia. A decade ago, on August 9, 2016, the first wave of PlayStation Travellers stepped onto an alien world in No Man’s Sky, marking the beginning of a journey that would span the cosmos.

The first words that echoed through their exosuits were simple yet profound: “Hazard protection active.” Those automated warnings became the soundtrack to countless adventures across the stars.

Whether you were there from day one or joined the fleet later, you’ve seen how Travellers awaken on distant planets, each a light‑year away from the next, and together they have forged an ever‑expanding universe.

Over the years, millions of players have made No Man’s Sky their home, building colossal bases, cultivating thriving communities, forging friendships, and designing custom vessels that range from whimsical SpongeBob‑inspired craft to majestic cathedral‑scale ships.

In the past ten years, the game has evolved alongside its community, delivering 40 major, free updates that have enriched the sandbox with base‑building, exocraft, settlements, mechs, pets, living ships, and expeditions. The universe itself has been rebuilt multiple times, while PlayStation has added support for PSVR, PS5, and the latest PSVR2, allowing players to immerse themselves in the cosmos with unprecedented depth.
