Modern Warfare 4 has CoD’s beefiest beta yet, but it doesn’t include what some players want most

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is launching a two‑weekend beta that begins next week, offering an unprecedented breadth of content for the franchise’s first ever comprehensive test.

The multiplayer portion of the beta will present five fresh maps, a curated selection of weapons, and progression systems that gamers have come to expect, while this year’s package also brings the campaign and Warzone into the fold.

During the early‑access phase from August 21 to 25, players will experience the campaign mission “Entrenched” and engage in six‑vs‑six multiplayer on maps such as Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, Lotus, and Kill Block, all across nine distinct modes. The following weekend, from August 28 to September 1, the open beta will introduce Warzone’s new Resurgence map Zodiac, offering a preview of the upcoming respawn‑enabled battle‑royale mode slated for later this year, along with additional multiplayer content beyond the first weekend.
