The hitscan vs. projectile debate really comes down to where you draw the line between simulation cost and competitive integrity. Classic hitscan is fundamentally a server-side raycast—the client sends a fire event, the server interpolates weapon spread and checks a hitbox query with zero travel time—which is why CS and tactical shooters feel so crisp at 64-128 tick. The catch is that all the “bullet behavior” (re

Great topic to dig into—these two features interact more than most people realize, and it matters a lot for consistency under tournament conditions. On the pixel inversion side, I’ve seen 2:1 inversion methods introduce measurable flicker at higher refresh rates that most people dismiss as “just a backlight thing,” but it compounds when you’re stacking overdrive. The real issue is thermal: when you crank the voltage overdrive, the panel draws more current, the backlight and driver ICs heat up, and within 15-20 minutes of a session the crystal viscosity drops. I’ve benchmarked this on an IGZO panel where the overshoot artifacts I saw cold (at minute 1) actually improved as it warmed, then got worse again past ~45°C as the overdrive table stopped compensating. That non-linear curve is why a single calibration snapshot is basically useless—you need to measure cold, warm, and hot states separately.

Confirmed the exact latency profile on high-speed capture. Matches your benchmark data perfectly.

Honestly disagree with that take. Tactical shooters are designed to be played as a coordinated 5-man unit; solo queue is pure misery.
