When a GTA-inspired game is set to launch around the same time as GTA 6, one option is to schedule it for the day before. That is precisely the strategy being adopted by Vice: Magic City Mayhem.

The game is officially slated for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 18th, 2026—one day before GTA 6’s November 19th release. As the promotional artwork suggests, Vice: Magic City Mayhem leans heavily into the same visual style as the Rockstar Ігри title, though the game itself is markedly different.
Instead, it is described as a “top-down 8-bit retro action/adventure game inspired by Zelda with a Vice City theme,” essentially resembling what you might get by combining old-school Zelda with Vice City.
Step into the shoes of Dutch, one of Magic City’s most feared enforcers, on a thrilling and dangerous quest to rescue your one true love, Sophie. Navigate through the chaos of wild nightclubs, scenic beaches, and raptor-infested yachts in this raunchy, high-stakes adventure.
In Vice: Magic City Mayhem, we blend the best of both worlds—drawing inspiration from the immersive exploration, intense combat, and mind-bending puzzles of Zelda, alongside the outrageous storylines, vibrant world-building, and dark humor of Vice City.

What’s particularly interesting about this is that it started life as a Kickstarter project last year, securing $13,278 worth of funding alongside a $10,000 goal. Some of the developers working on the project have worked at the likes of EA and Telltale Ігри as well, so there’s every chance it’s going to be worth picking up.
Let’s see how it goes, eh? We just admire the bravery of releasing right next to GTA 6 in November with a game that seems similar but actually offers something very different, and here’s hoping that bold bet will ultimately pay off.
If you’re interested, Vice: Magic City Mayhem is available to pre-order on the Xbox Store for £12.49 / $14.99.
