We’ve discussed Exodus several times in recent years here at Pure Xbox—an upcoming sci-fi RPG that shares more than a few similarities with Mass Effect—and we’re eager to experience it in April 2027.

In the game, players can choose to control either the male or female version of the protagonist, Jun Aslan. The male version has now been given a visual change following negative feedback to its initial reveal.
The difference can be seen in the image above, as well as in the video at the bottom of this page. Our sister site Push Square also published a story on the matter yesterday, including its own comparison image:
Here’s what the development team said about the change:
“We’ve seen your conversations and feedback over the last few months around our male Jun character model. We’ve been listening, and we take that feedback seriously. We’ve continued to refine Jun as we worked on him and the rest of the game.”

Honestly, we haven’t been following the discourse around this character since the Exodus reveal, but it doesn’t really feel like Jun needed a visual overhaul. The new version is fine too, but certainly seems to de-age the character.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments section below, and we’ll have more details to share in the lead-up to Exodus’s release on April 7th, 2027. Pre-orders aren’t yet available for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but it’s definitely coming to those platforms, and it’ll also support Xbox Play Anywhere from day one.
