Wardogs developer Bulkhead is preparing to reward players with in-game cash and experience points for choosing the Blue team during Season 2, a move aimed at improving that faction’s win rate.
“We’re looking at how we can help the win rate of a certain team,” says Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer in the game’s “Road to Season 2” devlog. A promotional image shown alongside the devlog reads: “Lonestar cash and XP bonus. Season 2 only. New Bakurani spawn.”

Despite all three teams starting on equal footing, players have increasingly gravitated away from Blue in Wardogs. Some have reportedly idled on the selection screen for minutes, waiting for a slot to open on either the Green or Red team.

Bulkhead acknowledges practical balancing issues working against Blue, such as its poor camouflage and unfavorable spawn points—Season 2 introduces the Bakurani map. But the bonuses also target what one writer described last month as a more elusive problem: a self-fulfilling reputation.

“Another, less talked about possibility, is that Blue team’s infamy is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Folks have one bad night with Lonestar and decide to believe the reputation, or hear it’s the team to avoid, or notice everyone else actively avoiding it, and you end up with a Blue team full of less experienced players,” the writer observed.
The writer also suggested the bias may already be easing. “I’ve noticed the Blue bias dying down over the past couple weeks—the faction is still mostly losing in the NA West servers I frequent, but they’re also scoring points and competing, which is a positive sign. I’ve even been on a couple of winning Blue teams.”
Wardogs Season 2 arrives alongside an October 15 patch that adds new weapons, vehicles, rainy weather across all maps, and further content to be detailed in next week’s patch notes. The update also marks the game’s first progression wipe, resetting every player back to level 1.
