But when I saw the reveal trailer for Uncanyon, the new game from the brilliant minds behind Maquette, that feeling came rushing back.

Uncanyon isn’t just a game; it’s an experience. You step into the shoes of Sonia, a young woman who finds herself adrift in a realm where the very fabric of reality is malleable. As the Steam page eloquently puts it, “hills breathe, trees change color, and the land itself never stands still.” It’s that last detail – the constant state of flux – that immediately grabbed my attention. How do you create a world that’s perpetually transforming? The answer, as far as I can tell from the trailer, involves some seriously clever puzzle design.
The puzzles in Uncanyon appear to revolve around manipulating the environment itself, reshaping hills, altering pathways, and generally bending reality to your will.
