During Anca’s questline, you’re presented with a critical choice: cleanse her of the curse using The Font, claim its power for yourself, or destroy it entirely. Each path has distinct ramifications, affecting not only your immediate gameplay but also Anca’s fate and your relationship with her.
Option 1: Claiming the Blessing
If you choose to use The Font yourself, you’re rewarded with the “Font of Life” passive ability. This perk provides continuous health regeneration during daylight hours. While this is a valuable boon, especially considering Witchcraft abilities often drain your HP, remember that numerous other healing methods are available as both a human and through Witchcraft skills.
Anca will accept your decision without issue, speculating on alternative ways to break her curse. This choice won’t immediately impact your romance with Anca, which unfolds shortly after this quest. However, be warned: this seemingly minor decision will eventually resurface and significantly influence Anca’s ultimate destiny.
Option 2: Sharing the Blessing
Choosing to let Anca use The Font offers a different kind of reward. While you won’t receive any passive abilities or immediate benefits, this is arguably the most beneficial outcome for Anca. The Font completely removes the curse, erasing the unsettling red sigils etched onto her arm.
Anca’s newfound happiness shines through in the subsequent romance scene, where you unlock additional dialogue options and deepen your connection. More importantly, this choice sets the stage for the most favorable eventual outcome for Anca’s character arc.
Option 3: Destruction
The most regrettable choice is to destroy The Font. While this action reveals a pair of fairly average legendary trousers hidden beneath the altar, the sacrifice isn’t worth it. You’re giving up both Anca’s happiness and a valuable passive perk for a piece of gear that’s readily available elsewhere in Blood of Dawnwalker.
Despite this seemingly negative consequence, destroying The Font won’t impact your ability to romance Anca, and the subsequent scenes will unfold identically to if you had used The Font yourself. It’s simply the least rewarding option overall.
