The internet is buzzing, and Rockstar Games is reportedly still in the dark about who’s been leaking gameplay clips of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Despite a week of almost daily leaks showcasing previously unseen parts of the November 19 release, the company remains tight-lipped. However, they are pushing forward with plans for a much-anticipated “extended” look at the game as a Netflix exclusive on August 27.
The Leak Continues
According to sources, Rockstar Games isn’t planning to alter its marketing strategy due to the leaks. The company is currently focused on identifying how the latest breach occurred. While stricter security protocols were implemented following a 2022 hack, someone still managed to gain access to what appears to be an early build of the game.
Aggressive Protection of IP
In an industry known for its secrecy and aggressive legal tactics to protect intellectual property, Take-Two has fostered a reputation for being particularly zealous in shutting down fan projects and prosecuting those who mishandle its trademarked and copyrighted materials. Throughout the week, fans have been joking about the company’s lawyers showing up at the leaker’s doorstep.

Investigation Underway
Earlier today, Kotaku reported that Take-Two has already filed requests to subpoena records from Discord and Microsoft in an attempt to identify how the leaks happened and who is responsible. Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has remained completely silent on social media, with its usual posts about GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption Online, and other games conspicuously absent.
