Pokopia Players Discover Clever Workaround for Limited-Time Pokémon

The world of Pokémon Pokopia is full of surprises, but a recent discovery has sent ripples through the community. While the game features limited-time events that offer unique Pokémon recruits, one resourceful player has uncovered a fascinating workaround to snag those elusive creatures without resorting to fiddling with your Nintendo Switch 2’s internal clock.

Unlocking Event Pokémon: A New Approach

Pokémon Pokopia introduced a system where special Pokémon are only available during specific events. This meant players had to either meticulously plan their gameplay around these limited-time windows or, as some suggested, delve into the Switch 2’s settings to “time travel” and alter the system clock. However, a clever player known as ArcadiaCitizen_ has found an alternative method that allows you to recruit these special Pokémon without waiting for events or manipulating your console’s internal clock.

The key lies in exploiting existing systems within Pokémon Pokopia. Specifically, players need access to the “Mysterious Goggles,” which unlock access to player-created cloud islands. These islands often contain a wealth of resources and items. One particular island, created by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo, is essentially a treasure trove containing almost every item imaginable in Pokémon Pokopia, including those specific to the habitats of event Pokémon.

By utilizing the 3D printer found in Pokémon Centers, players can effectively “print” these items using Pokémetal or Rare Pokémetal. This allows them to create the necessary resources to recruit monsters like the Jumpluff family, Sableye, and even Jirachi, bypassing the need to wait for their respective event windows. However, a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to access online features and utilize this method.

The island code ArcadiaCitizen_ used is 6DXL PD6F. This discovery has sparked considerable discussion within the Pokémon Pokopia community, offering players an alternative path to acquiring these exclusive Pokémon. When Pokémon Pokopia launched earlier this year, it did receive some criticism for its time-limited recruitment windows, particularly given that many fans hadn’t yet acquired a Nintendo Switch 2 by the game’s March release date. Now, it seems there are multiple ways to circumvent this restriction, whether intentionally designed or not.
