•October brings one of PlayStation Plus’ strongest game catalog additions in recent memory, with Sony expanding its Extra and Premium subscription tiers through a mix of new releases and long-awaited titles.
On October 14, PlayStation officially announced the next round of games joining the service’s catalog. Not all titles become available immediately; release dates have been staggered across the month to spread availability for subscribers.
The most notable addition is Mafia: The Old Country, the semi-open world crime game that arrives on PS5 on October 20. Also joining is Mycopunk, a co-op looter-shooter that has proven popular on PC, landing on PS5 the same day.
Horizon Forbidden West rounds out the major additions, available on both PS5 and PS4 from October 20.

The month’s horror offerings are comparatively modest. The Midnight Walk, Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, and Dino Crisis 2 make up the slightly creepy selections available this season.
To access these games, players must hold an active PS Plus Extra or Premium subscription. Essential tier subscribers do not gain catalog access, and titles disappear from a library if a subscription lapses until the user resubscribes.
