Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard declined to confirm or deny whether Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive on the Switch 2, directing questions instead to Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two.
Pritchard was recently asked by Variety if GTA 6 is coming to Switch 2. Rather than answering directly, she said it would be a matter for the game’s developer and publisher to decide.
“That’s going to be a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time.”

GTA 6 is confirmed only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S when it launches November 19. A PC edition may follow later, though that has not been officially confirmed.

The question of a Switch 2 version gained attention in May 2025, when reporter NateTheHate reported that Rockstar was conducting tests to see about bringing GTA 6 to the platform. He clarified that such testing does not mean the game is planned for Switch 2, noting that developers regularly run feasibility checks across different platforms.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said the company could bring more games to Switch 2, though it remains unclear whether GTA 6 would be among them. He noted that Take-Two “would not necessarily bring every title to the platform,” but pointed to a “great” opportunity to port some of its older titles.

Zelnick also described himself as a “big believer” in the Switch 2.
Rockstar has brought GTA games to Nintendo hardware before. GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition released on Switch in 2021 and is playable on Switch 2, while older entries including GTA: Chinatown Wars (Nintendo DS) and the original Grand Theft Auto titles (Game Boy) also appeared on Nintendo platforms.
PC edition will follow later, but this is not confirmed.
