Get ready to say goodbye to some familiar faces on Xbox Game Pass. A new wave of titles is set to depart the subscription service, and among them is a major player: Cyberpunk 2077. Following in the footsteps of The Witcher 3, which was recently removed, CD Projekt Red’s futuristic RPG will be unavailable to Game Pass subscribers starting September 15th. This marks the end of an era for those who experienced Night City through the subscription service.
A Farewell to Familiar Favorites
Cyberpunk 2077 arrived on Game Pass back in March, suggesting a roughly six-month licensing agreement. While its departure is not entirely unexpected, it’s still disappointing news for fans eager to dive back into V’s story or experience the game for the first time without the full purchase price. Beyond Night City, several other notable games are also leaving Game Pass on September 15th, including Dead Cells, a roguelike action platformer known for its addictive gameplay loop, and Frostpunk 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the city-building survival game.
The full list of departing titles includes: Commandos: Origins, Cricket 24, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Frostpunk 2, Mullet Madjack, Spiritfarer, Superliminal, and Train Sim World 5. Make sure to jump back in and experience these titles before they’re gone!
Fresh Content on the Horizon
While saying goodbye to some games, Xbox Game Pass continues to add exciting new content. This month alone, subscribers can look forward to additions like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, offering a return to classic Call of Duty action, and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage, bringing arcade-style fighting game thrills. RuneScape: Dragonwild is also joining the lineup, promising a new adventure in the vast world of Gielinor.
