While officially cast as Maxima in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Man of Tomorrow, many fans are convinced she’s actually gearing up to take on the iconic role of Wonder Woman. The evidence? A recent video showcasing her intense training regimen has only fueled the speculation.
The Training Montage That Speaks Volumes
In a recently released video from Women’s Health, Arjona walks viewers through her grueling boxing and weightlifting sessions. The dedication and intensity of the training are certainly reminiscent of what one would expect from an Amazonian warrior. “I’m enjoying the transformation, but it’s hard work,” she admits in the video. “I’ve never felt stronger, but it’s hard. The excitement of playing the woman I’m playing gives me everything I need to wake up. Physically, it’s exhausting, but it’s all for the greater good.”
The fact that Arjona is being so coy about which character she’s portraying has only intensified the buzz. Why go through such a demanding physical transformation if the role was simply Maxima, a relatively obscure DC character?
