Rockstar Games has pulled back the curtain on a major slice of Grand Theft Auto 6’s auditory landscape, revealing six distinct radio stations complete with their own disc jockeys alongside a first-of-its-kind podcast feature that players can enjoy without ever sitting behind a wheel. The announcement, which arrives as anticipation for the open-world crime epic continues to build, confirms that GTA 6 protagonists Jason and Lucia will be able to tune into both music stations and on-demand podcasts directly through their in-game smartphones—meaning the soundtrack of Leonida no longer belongs solely to the driver’s seat.

In a series first, Rockstar has confirmed that these podcasts can be streamed while exploring the world on foot, not just during drives. This marks an evolution from earlier installments, where radio remained largely tied to vehicle interiors, and signals the studio’s ambition to weave its audio identity throughout every corner of the map.

A Radio Landscape Spanning Genres

As with previous entries in the franchise, the selection of stations covers a broad spectrum of musical styles, each curated by DJs whose personalities are expected to add texture and humor to the world. Cocoteo FM brings modern Latin music to the airwaves under the hosting of El Martillo and La Gata, while Back Country Radio offers renegade country sounds served up by DJs MW and Delta Dawne, complete with roving reporter Mud Dog Mike delivering regular updates.

AfroBank FM rounds out the international offerings with what Rockstar describes as “the best in African music,” featuring 20th-century classics and undiscovered gems hosted by DJs Burna and Palmsy. For players seeking heavier fare, The Chamber 106.6 delivers a mix of classic and modern metal tracks curated by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom, while Flash FM caters to those preferring easy listening with pop hits from hosts Robyn and Alex. Rounding out the lineup is Dirty South Classics, which serves regional rap and hip-hop staples through DJs Trick and Trina.

The Next Evolution of In-Game Radio

This radio reveal builds on Rockstar’s earlier promise that GTA 6 would deliver the “next evolution of in-game radio, and more”, offering players a dynamic audio experience throughout their time in Leonida. The studio has also partnered with Spotify to promote the title, and the upcoming official GTA 6 album features 34 songs written specifically for the game—including new music from Keith Richards and Travis Scott.

The podcasts are a genuine series first. Players will be able to connect radio stations and tune into on-demand shows through their characters’ smartphones, whether they’re behind the wheel or navigating Leonida on foot.

Rockstar Games

While Rockstar has not yet disclosed the specifics of what these podcasts will cover, the studio has promised that more details are coming soon. The inclusion of “unsolicited opinions” via podcast hosts suggests a tongue-in-cheek tone consistent with the series’ satirical edge.

Looking Ahead

In related news, serial leaker Cyberleek has resurfaced with a 25-minute video containing new gameplay footage, cutscenes, and a tastefully obscured clip of Jason Duval in the shower. Such leaks continue to fuel fan speculation even as Rockstar maintains tight control over official reveals.

As the countdown toward GTA 6 continues, these radio announcements offer another window into the world Rockstar is building—one where every mile of Leonida comes with its own soundtrack and a voice to guide players through it. With podcast details still forthcoming and more content expected in the lead-up to launch, fans have plenty left to anticipate.
