Rockstar Games have announced the pre-load date and time for Grand Theft Auto 6. Players should be ready to free up storage space and stay up late.
According to the official Rockstar Games website, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be pre-loadable from the 10th November. On PlayStation 5, downloads will open at midnight in each player’s local time, while on Xbox Series X/S they will begin at 12am GMT on the 10th November. Below are some common time zone equivalents:
- 4pm PDT – 9th November
- 7pm EDT – 9th November
- 1am CEST – 10th November
- 9am JST – 10th November
- 8am CST (Beijing) – 10th November
In total, 212GB of free space will be required on the console to download the game. This means it may be wise to make room by removing favourite single-player titles or long-standing live-service games from your consoles.
The Rockstar Games support site provides detailed instructions on how to pre-load GTA 6 on both Xbox and PlayStation. On the PlayStation Store, players must locate the game in the digital store and pre-order it. The same applies to Xbox Series X/S: simply navigate to the store and pre-order it to begin the download.
This announcement follows the discovery of the game’s substantial file size, a preview of stool-related violence from a South Park episode, and the news that Rockstar Games employees will have the opportunity to officially recognise a developer union. It is, to say the least, a busy period.
