Xbox is bringing the chill vibes with its new “Cozy Collection” of officially licensed accessories. Partnering with industry giants like 8BitDo, SteelSeries, and KontrolFreek, this collection offers fresh colorways for controllers, keyboards, mice, earbuds, and thumb grips – all designed to bring a touch of nature-inspired aesthetics to your gaming setup.
A Palette of Green and Brown
The “Cozy Collection” features a unified design language, characterized by soft green and brown hues, pixel art detailing, and an overall “nature” theme. While specific designs vary across each peripheral, the collection offers something for every gamer looking to add a touch of personality to their setup. Most accessories are available for purchase now, with the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 controller currently up for preorder ahead of its September 29 release date.
8BitDo’s Forest Wonder and Mossy Lagoon
The collection includes new colorways for several of 8BitDo’s popular peripherals, including the Retro 97 mechanical keyboard and the Ultimate 3 wireless controller. The “Forest Wonder” colorway on the keyboard decorates the clicky keys with a variety of pixelated creatures and plants, while also featuring RGB backlighting designed to resemble “fireflies through a quiet forest at night.” We previously gave the original retro mechanical keyboard a glowing 9/10, praising its rugged build quality and easy-to-program macro functionality.
The wireless 8BitDo Ultimate 3 controller, available in the “Mossy Lagoon” colorway, moves from the forest to the sea – well, a lagoon, to be precise. We called the base Ultimate model a “proper pro controller,” highlighting its level of customization. The Mossy Lagoon colorway adds aquatic pixel creatures and transforms the thumbsticks into mossy islands. It’s undeniably cute!
The 8BitDo mouse, simply named “Forest Wonder,” sticks to the green and orangey-brown combo and is designed to complement the retro keyboard. The pixel art is reserved for the charging stand, adding another layer of detail. And yes, the entire collection is entirely wireless.
SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds: Matcha and Yuzu
The collection isn’t limited to 8BitDo accessories. Xbox also collaborated with SteelSeries on new “Matcha” and “Yuzu” colorways for the premium Arctis GameBuds. While not everyone’s cup of tea, headset expert Michael Higham gave these buds a solid 9/10, placing them firmly at the top of our list of best gaming earbuds.
Finally, KontrolFreek offers new “No-Slip” thumb grips in the “XBOX Cozy Edition,” adding both comfort and a touch of pixelated charm to your controller.
