The decision comes as the company cites a “year packed with incredible games” that includes blockbuster titles such as Grand Theft Auto VI, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Gears of War: E‑Day.
In a recent statement, Xbox outlined its 2026 launch calendar, highlighting a lineup that spans multiple genres and franchises. The company noted that titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Control Resonant, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer will also be hitting the platform that year.
“To ensure that each launch receives the attention it deserves, especially during the holiday season, we are moving Fable to February 2027,” Microsoft added. “This will give the game its own dedicated moment in the spotlight.”
Microsoft has announced that the long‑awaited Fable will receive a fresh reveal during its upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, where the company will also spotlight its expanded lineup of titles.
