Disney and Marvel Studios are offering fans a free chance to revisit the events of WandaVision, making the first three episodes of the 2021 Disney Plus series available to stream at no cost on YouTube ahead of the premiere of its successor, VisionQuest. The promotional move arrives just as the MCU prepares for its next big show, giving both longtime viewers and newcomers an opportunity to catch up before VisionQuest debuts later this month.
The trilogy began in 2021 when WandaVision brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe onto Disney Plus for the first time. Agatha All Along followed in 2024, and VisionQuest now closes out the story arc. As part of the buildup to that finale, Disney has placed episodes one through three on YouTube, where they can be watched without a subscription.
A Return to Westview
WandaVision caught up with Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. She was depicted living a quiet suburban life alongside Vision, portrayed by Paul Bettany, though an underlying sense that something was wrong permeated every frame. The show leaned into mystery and melancholy, exploring Wanda’s grief through episodes stylized after sitcoms from different decades.
The dramatic tension stemmed partly from what audiences had already witnessed on the big screen: the last time viewers saw Vision, he died at the hands of Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, in Avengers: Infinity War. Yet here he was, alive and well, living out an idyllic existence that hid far more than its cheerful surface suggested.
A Temporary Offer With Practical Purpose
It remains unclear whether Disney intends to keep these episodes on YouTube indefinitely or pull them once VisionQuest begins streaming. Regardless of how long the free window lasts, the timing makes sense as a way for viewers to refresh their memory about what Wanda and Vision were up to, or to start watching the show for the first time before diving into its conclusion.

For those hoping to watch beyond the three free episodes, the full nine-episode season remains available on Disney Plus. The streaming service recently saw another price hike, making it more expensive than before, which may encourage some viewers to take advantage of the YouTube offering instead.
VisionQuest Sets Up Its Own Mystery
VisionQuest is next up for the MCU, following the resurrected Vision from WandaVision as he tries to figure out who he really is. He works through that question alongside other AI characters, including Ultron, voiced by James Spader, and Friday, played by Ola Brady.
“You’ll get plenty of robot action in the show. The show is very much inspired by that last scene in Age of Ultron between the two of them. But watching Spader and Bettany chew up the scenery was something I saw in my head from the very beginning.”
Terry Matalas, VisionQuest Showrunner
As shown in the series’ trailers, AIs like Ultron will appear with human bodies rather than remaining purely digital forms. According to showrun Terry Matalas, who spoke with Polygon, this was not a budget decision but an intentional creative choice designed to let actors like Spader emote and perform physical acting that a CGI robot simply could not achieve.
Looking Ahead
VisionQuest will stream exclusively on Disney Plus, opening with a two-episode premiere on October 14. The free availability of WandaVision’s early episodes provides the perfect lead-in for anyone wanting to re-enter Westview before Vision embarks on his journey of self-discovery.
