DC Comics unveiled a new Justice League miniseries, Absolute Justice, during its panel at New York Comic-Con on Friday. The five-issue series launches in April 2027 and will bring together heroes of the publisher’s Absolute Universe: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern (Jo Mullein), and Flash (Wally West).
Absolute Justice marks the first time this full roster appears together in the Absolute Universe. While some characters have already crossed paths—Batman and Wonder Woman among them—the team-up will be unprecedented for the line overall. According to reporters present at the panel, Martian Manhunter is responsible for assembling the group.

The announcement came as a trailer played, warning that Darkseid and other “true rulers of this world” have one message for its heroes: “Abandon all hope.” Writer Jason Aaron, known for Absolute Superman, will pen the series with artist Juan Ferreyra (Green Arrow, Spine-Tingling Spider-Man) drawing.

The event reportedly won’t interrupt any of the ongoing Absolute Universe titles—a departure from most comic crossover events, which typically stall other series to accommodate a big story.
Absolute Justice was among several announcements made during the panel. Cliff Chiang will take over art duties on Absolute Batman issue #26 in January, filling in for artist Nick Dragotta on the Barbara Gordon-starring issue. A new Absolute Black Canary one-shot is also slated for release sometime next year; the character was introduced in Absolute Green Arrow, which began as a six-issue miniseries before being expanded to 12 issues.
The Absolute Universe line has proven successful for DC Comics. Both Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman received Best New Series nominations at the 2025 Eisner Awards, with Absolute Wonder Woman taking home the win. The books reimagine DC’s heroes by stripping them to their essentials—Batman, for instance, has no butler, mansion, or riches.
The line continues to expand beyond comics: an Absolute Batman animated series was announced in June.
