Dungeons & Dragons has a knack for blending with other iconic IPs, and we’re already eagerly awaiting the upcoming collaboration with Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. But it seems this might not be the only Blizzard crossover on the horizon, as both Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard have recently dropped intriguing hints.
StarCraft Dreams: A D&D Crossover?
During Gen Con 2026, Dan Ayoub, head of Dungeons & Dragons, spoke with GameSpot’s Jessica Cogswell and made it clear that a StarCraft crossover is something he’s very interested in. “I will say this,” Ayoub said, “since I am sitting here with [World of Warcraft VP] Holly Longdale, who is super persuasive and has cool stuff: I think StarCraft would be badass.” He added with a laugh, “As I said earlier today, I quite literally almost flunked out of university because of StarCraft. That one gives me the feels.”
The exchange was playful, with both parties hinting at further discussions. Longdale responded with a knowing smile, “Hmmm. I think we should talk. I know a guy.” Ayoub chuckled and replied, “I think I know where to find you.” While Blizzard remained tight-lipped about any concrete plans, their coy remarks have definitely sparked our imaginations.
Before we can even dream of battling the Zerg in the Forgotten Realms, we’ll get a taste of what a D&D and World of Warcraft collaboration looks like. D&D and World of Warcraft will be released on November 17th and promises to deliver 30 dungeon bosses, seven dungeons, 60 new spells, and much more. D&D: World of Warcraft is a must-have for fans of both franchises.
