At New York Comic Con 2026, IGN has exclusively revealed that Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang, the creators behind Paper Girls, are reuniting for a new superhero series titled Roam at Image Comics. It marks their first collaboration in over a decade.

The creative team on Roam also includes colorist Matt Wilson and letterer Jared Fletcher. The series is set to release Roam #1 in February 2027.

Brian K. Vaughan

“There’s no bigger thrill than breathing life into new worlds with your friends, that electric feeling of collaboration.” ROAM is unlike anything Brian and I have done before, but inspired by our love for comics as a medium. It’s been a joy to reunite with our trusted teammates Matt Wilson and Jared Fletcher, and I’m incredibly grateful to Image Comics for continuing the creative partnership and exploration that began with Paper Girls. It’s going to be a wild ride!

Cliff Chiang

Vaughan and Chiang previously worked together on Paper Girls, which also launched at Image Comics.
