Uitgever 2K Games has announced a major sales milestone for its super popular looter shooter series, Borderlands.
The franchise has now sold more than 100 million copies to date, across all platforms and games. It’s marked the occasion with this video:
In addition, developer Gearbox is celebrating by giving players 20 Golden Keys in every mainline Borderlands game — that includes Borderlands 1, 2, 3, The Pre-Vervolg, and 4. You can claim this bonus with the below Shift Code:

The Borderlands series began on PS3 back in 2009, and at the time there was nothing quite like it. The combination of its cel-shaded visuals, divisive humour, and co-op looting and shooting made it stand out, and it’s been very popular ever since.
Across five main games and numerous spin-offs released over the best part of 20 years, it’s now sold over 100 million units — impressive stuff.
There was even a movie, though the less said about that the better.
There aren’t many franchises that are in the 100 million+ club, but it joins the likes of Gran Turismo, Dragon Quest, Mortal Kombat, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and more.
The latest game, Borderlands 4, recently concluded its first year of post-launch support and DLC. In a blog post addressed to the community, Gearbox says the team is “cooking hard on more Borderlands 4 content for next year.”
In the meantime, “Weekly Activity refreshes and Community Challenges will continue” and the studio wants to hear what players want moving forward.
