Attention, Avatar fans! Get ready to add another piece of memorabilia to your collection because Avatar: The Last Airbender is finally breaking free from the digital realm and heading for a physical release. Paramount Plus and Alliance Home Entertainment have officially announced that the film will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD.
A Long Time Coming
While Avatar: The Last Airbender debuted on Paramount Plus back on July 24, 2026, to widespread acclaim – boasting a stellar 90% critic score and a near-perfect 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes – its journey hasn’t been without its bumps. The film’s release was unfortunately overshadowed by a massive leak this past April when the entire film was uploaded to X after what was reported as a security breach.
Despite initial hopes that the leak might push Paramount towards a theatrical release, offering fans a truly immersive experience compared to watching at home, the movie initially received only a very limited run in select theaters. Thankfully, Paramount is now rectifying this with a physical release, something not always guaranteed for films released directly on streaming platforms.
Release Dates and Formats
Mark your calendars! Avatar: The Last Airbender will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on November 3, 2026, and the stunning 4K Ultra HD version will arrive on February 9, 2027. Pre-orders are now open, so you can secure your copy today!
Beyond the Physical Release: What’s Next for Avatar?
The excitement doesn’t stop there! Alongside the film and the excellent Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, a brand new Avatar TV series, Avatar: Seven Havens, is set to premiere on Paramount Plus next month. This sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender will follow Avatar Pavi, a young Earthbender navigating a post-apocalyptic world. The show has been greenlit for two seasons of 13 episodes each, promising a wealth of new content. After a long hiatus since the conclusion of The Legend of Korra in 2014, 2026 is proving to be a fantastic year for Avatar fans!
