Wizards of the Coast has announced its next Universes Beyond release for Dungeons & Dragons, confirming a new Star Wars title called Dungeons & Dragons: Star Wars – Tyro Squadron.
The studio revealed the project during New York Comic Con 2026, according to a report by Jackie Thomas for IGN. It follows an initial announcement that something Star Wars was coming to D&D at Gen Con in July.
A new Core Rules expansion is also planned for the franchise. The article notes this will likely be as large in scope as the recent World of Warcraft expansion, though no specific details have been confirmed.

The Tyro Squadron adventure module lets players “take the fight to the Empire as part of a secret Rebel crew,” according to Wizards of the Coast. Set during the Original Trilogy, the stories unfold as Luke and Leia fight their own battles across the galaxy.
“Fly daring missions, explore new corners of the galaxy, and help shape the Rebellion’s story.”

Like Star Wars: Zero Company earlier this year, the campaign appears to focus on the seedy underbelly of the Star Wars universe rather than the bombastic heroics associated with Luke and companions.
The article observes that blending blasters and lightsabers into traditional high-fantasy roleplaying will be an interesting challenge for the team, but notes the strong handling of the World of Warcraft expansion has generated interest. That release is referenced via Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft.
Wizards of the Coast said it will share more information about the Star Wars partnership at Star Wars Celebration in April 2027.
