The Lego Company has officially revealed three new Batman-themed sets, all scheduled for release on January 1, 2027. Building on the Dark Knight’s enduring presence across film and gaming, the announcement introduces a range of models spanning affordable vehicle builds to intricate collector pieces, each drawing inspiration from different chapters in Batman’s long-running legacy.

The lineup kicks off with Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck, a set centered on the iconic Batmobile from the 1992 film alongside Penguin’s comically understated duck-shaped vehicle. The Batmobile features the ability to jettison its sides, transforming into the lean Batmissile. While this isn’t the first time the Batman Returns Batmobile has appeared in Lego form, this iteration positions itself as a more accessible option compared to the recent 2,269-piece collector’s edition, which retails for $229.99. At 672 pieces and priced at $59.99, this set targets a broader audience of fans.

A Return to the Arkham Era

Catering to gamers who remember Batman’s darker incarnation, Arkham Batman Batmobile recreates the Caped Crusader’s vehicle from the 2015 video game Batman: Arkham Knight. This tank-inspired version of the Batmobile includes functional suspension and ships with a Batman minifigure. Measuring 317 pieces, it is the most affordable set in the trio at $29.99, making it an attractive entry point for collectors on a budget.

The third set takes a more artistic direction with The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover, a buildable mural based on the cover of Detective Comics #880 from 2011, which depicts a grinning Joker. Marketed as “3D wall art,” certain elements extend beyond the picture frame, including bats and Batarangs positioned in the top left corner. At 1,849 pieces and $169.99, it stands as the most intricate build of the three.

“The Dark Knight has quite a presence in the world of Lego, with a movie and several video games to his name. That prolific run continues because the Lego Company just revealed three new sets that are arriving early next year.”

Lego

The announcement arrives during a strong year for Batman properties from both Lego and Warner Bros. Games. On May 22, Warner Bros. Games released Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, an open-world title inspired by Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series. The game has earned critical praise for its impressive scope and resemblance to the acclaimed Arkham games, currently holding a solid 83 on Metacritic and a 95% user approval rating on Steam.

A Timeless Partnership

Lego and Batman share decades of history, a relationship that continues to drive collector demand. A Lego set originally released for $49.99 in 2008 is now going for over 20 times its original price on secondary markets, underscoring the franchise’s lasting appeal.

All three newly announced sets are planned for release on January 1, 2027, giving fans ample time to anticipate their arrival as they round out a year defined by both new gaming releases and renewed enthusiasm for Batman collectibles across multiple platforms.
