Call of Duty players can finally mark their calendars: Black Ops 7 Season 6 launches at 12 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sept. 17, kicking off the final season before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arrives and bringing a full slate of Halloween-themed content to multiplayer, Zombies, endgame modes, and Warzone.

The update marks the beginning of “The Haunting,” a spooky seasonal event that follows in the tradition of every Black Ops 7 season so far by packing its roster with new maps, game modes, and enemies. With Modern Warfare 4 on the horizon, Season 6 serves as the capstone for Treyarch and Raven Software’s current chapter, giving players one last chance to explore the title before the franchise shifts gears.

The Haunting Arrives Across Every Mode

The centerpiece of Season 6 is a return to form for Call of Duty’s most popular seasonal event. The Haunting brings horror-flavored content throughout the game, from new multiplayer maps to revamped Zombies experiences and a nightfall overhaul of the endgame.

In multiplayer, two brand-new 6v6 maps arrive in Quantum and Bloodstead, with the latter serving as a horror-themed variant of the Homestead map. Perhaps more intriguing is the introduction of T.E.D.D. Trials: Roadkill, a limited-time mode that brings three Zombies locations into standard multiplayer play. Players can explore Roadkill from Exit 115, Inferno from Kowakujo, and Lost from Totenreich as they tackle the new challenge.

Zombies and Endgame Get Major Overhauls

The Zombies mode receives its own substantial update with a brand-new survival map called Tenshu, while directed play and starting rooms are coming to Rex Infernus for improved accessibility. Meanwhile, endgame players will find Avalon transformed into a nighttime battleground featuring new enemy types alongside the “Forbidden Summoning” event, which introduces a colossal ancient worm boss as one of the season’s most ambitious encounters.

Treyarch and Raven Software

The Warzone update rounds out the season’s content slate, with Haven’s Hollow being reimagined as Haunted Hollow. The remapped location receives numerous changes throughout its layout, including a ghost train that adds to the eerie atmosphere.

When Does Season 6 Start in Your Time Zone?

The update drops at 12 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sept. 17, which translates across global time zones as follows: 9 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America, 1 p.m. BRT for Brazil, and 5 p.m. BST for the United Kingdom. Western Europe players can expect the update at 6 p.m. CEST, while Japan will see it land at 1 a.m. JST on Friday, Sept. 18. On the east coast of Australia, Season 6 arrives at 2 a.m. AET on Friday, Sept. 18.

Looking Ahead

Season 6 is the final content update for Black Ops 7 before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 takes over. With The Haunting delivering a robust slate of new maps, modes, and enemies across multiplayer, Zombies, endgame, and Warzone, players have one last opportunity to dive into Treyarch and Raven Software’s current iteration before the franchise moves on.

As Season 6 rolls out globally this Thursday, expect the community to fully embrace the spooky content as fans prepare for the transition to Modern Warfare 4 in the coming months.
