Rockstar Staff Confirms: Fans Really Were Measuring Oxygen Levels for GTA 6 Trailer!

The hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 has reached fever pitch, and it seems some fans are taking their dedication to a whole new level. Italian YouTuber Mike ShowSha recently visited Rockstar Games before the company’s big GTA 6 Netflix showcase, and he got an unbelievable story straight from the source: employees confirmed that overzealous fans were actually measuring oxygen levels around the studio campus in anticipation of a new trailer.

The Oxygen Obsession

Back in June, a dedicated GTA superfan went viral for attempting to gauge activity inside Rockstar North by monitoring oxygen levels. The logic was simple: increased oxygen levels would indicate more staff on-site, suggesting intensified development or an impending announcement. This same fan also deployed acoustic equipment outside the campus and even camped out, tracking employee traffic in a desperate attempt to decipher the game’s progress.

YouTuber Mike ShowSha was one of the lucky creators invited to Rockstar’s offices for a sneak peek at the game before its Netflix debut. And what he heard was truly mind-blowing.

“Guys, I’ve been told some weird things,” the YouTuber said in an August 28 video (via machine translation). “Like, there are people who measure oxygen levels – I don’t know how they do it, but they told me this at Rockstar, so I’d tend to believe them. If there’s a sign that suggests there are more people inside the studios, it means development has increased, and therefore it’s about to happen. It’s crazy.”

The internet’s reaction was swift and hilarious. One user joked on X, “No wonder they started the trailer with, ‘Yoo, Crackheads!’” Another said, “That level of obsession over a trailer is wild.” And yet another asked, “Bruh, who thinks like this?”

Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally launching on November 19, 2026, promising to put an end to all those “We got [XYZ] before GTA 6” memes.
