Nintendo has just released the first two parts of a new Ask the المطور series all about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Switch 2. Alongside a bunch of interesting insights about the game’s development, the interview also finally reveals the development team behind it.

As it turns out, the Switch 2 remake was developed internally by Nintendo’s Entertainment Planning & التطوير (EPD) Production Group No. 3 — the team that has handled just about every Zelda entry since the early 2000s.
The remake saw HokWai Ng take on the role of Director (his first Dir. role at the company, though he also worked on Tears of the Kingdom), with Aya Shida (Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Tears of the Kingdom) on Art Direction, Hiroki Taguchi (Breath of the Wild) as the Program Director, and Masato Ohashi (Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass) as Music Lead and one of the Sound Directors.
There was a part of us that thought Nintendo might bring in another studio to work on the remake — particularly as it increasingly appeared more and more faithful to the original — but it’s nice to see that it was an inside job instead. Worry not, Zelda legends Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi both served as producers on the project.
Parts three and four of the OoT Ask the المطور series will be released tomorrow (3rd November), so we’re sure that there are even more dev stories to come. Gosh, what a week to be a Zelda fan!
