Rumors are swirling that Activision’s next flagship title will be the long‑anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a sequel that promises to redefine the franchise’s core experience.
In a recent social‑media announcement, the studio described the upcoming game as the “definitive Modern Warfare” – a bold, relentless project crafted by a team that pushes every detail, system, and moment to its absolute limit.
“On behalf of everyone at IW, we’re proud of what we’ve been building and excited to finally start sharing it with you,” the developers added, hinting at a major reveal that could reshape the series’ trajectory.
Industry insiders speculate that the full unveiling may take place during Game One of the NBA Finals on June 4, a venue that has historically hosted high‑profile Call of Duty announcements.
Earlier this year, the Call of Duty X account officially debunked circulating rumors that the title would launch on the previous‑generation consoles, reassuring fans that the game will be tailored for next‑gen hardware.
In a significant shift announced this April, Activision revealed that future Call of Duty releases will no longer debut on Xbox Game Pass on day one, a move that could reshape subscription dynamics for the franchise.
