The original pitch for Gang of Dragon painted a vivid picture of a Yakuza‑style adventure, albeit under a different banner. The narrative centered on Shin Ji‑seong, a formidable Korean crime syndicate leader portrayed by celebrated actor Ma Dong‑seok.
