It’s no secret that a whole bunch of new releases have been moving their release dates from November back to September and October in recent months, and it’s actually resulted in a new record being set for Series X and S in 2026.

As shared by the folks behind the Xbox news for Koreans account on social media, there were 208 games released across Xbox Series X and S (and Xbox One in some cases) in October 2026, which represents the “peak month” for this year. September is second with 187 releases, and April is third with 169 releases.
Of those 208 games last month, 45% were Xbox Play Anywhere enabled, which is a pretty incredible percentage!
As you can see, the Play Anywhere percentage has been as high as 50% in 2026, and it’s raised quite considerably compared to the figures we were seeing in the first few months of the year.
This clearly indicates that Xbox is ramping up the push to get as many games as possible integrated into the programme, and we’re here for it – it’s always incredible to get a free PC copy on top of your Series X and S purchase!
November will be much quieter for new releases with GTA 6 hogging the spotlight of course, and December should see things slow down considerably as well. As we approach the new year though, it looks like we can expect well over 1,000 new releases on Xbox Series X|S in 2027 once again, with maybe around half of them getting Xbox Play Anywhere support along the way. Bring it on!
