During the 2026 XBOX Games Showcase, the spotlight was on new titles, but Microsoft also unveiled a hardware surprise that will delight longtime fans.
For those who haven’t yet upgraded to a current‑generation XBOX console, a special treat is on the horizon: to commemorate the brand’s 25th anniversary next November, Microsoft will release a limited‑edition XBOX Series X.
The forthcoming XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition will stand out with its translucent green finish, a nod to the console’s heritage and a visual treat for collectors.
Gaming veterans, who have long appreciated translucent console designs, will find this edition especially appealing, as it honors the decades of support from the XBOX community.
In the teaser video and accompanying images, the new console lights up with the iconic Xbox logo upon startup, paying homage to the original Xbox edition that celebrated the console’s early 2000s legacy.
According to the latest specifications, the system will ship with a generous 1 TB of internal storage and will feature a handful of surprise elements that Xbox has teased in advance.
To complement the 25th‑anniversary edition, Xbox will also offer a matching controller for sale separately: the X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller, which incorporates design cues reminiscent of the classic Duke controller.
Both the console and its collectible controller are slated to hit the market in November 2026, but only in selected regions. It remains unclear whether Mexico will be included, and further details on pricing and availability are expected to follow.
