With the Witcher series celebrating its 11‑year milestone, fans are already speculating about what CD Projekt Red might unveil next. Many believe that the upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, could bridge the narrative gap between The Witcher 3 and its anticipated successor, The Witcher 4. Yet, the question remains: will the studio revisit Geralt’s saga without overhauling gameplay mechanics?
Last year’s launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition on the PS5 marked a significant leap forward, introducing performance tweaks and graphical enhancements. It’s reasonable to expect that the new expansion will build on that foundation, offering further refinements and possibly new content that leverages the latest hardware capabilities.
According to insiders, the release window for Songs of the Past is set for August, giving the community ample time to prepare for another deep dive into Geralt’s world.
