The Zelda Ocarina of Time remake release time is fast approaching, as Nintendo introduces a new generation to one of its classic games. Unlike the 2011 3DS port, Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 features a substantial visual overhaul, along with several quality-of-life improvements that were absent from the original Nintendo 64 release. Pre-orders remain available at some retailers if you’re hoping to secure a special bonus, though players in the United States have only one bonus option to choose from.
Below, we break down when Zelda Ocarina of Time releases in your time zone.
What time does Zelda Ocarina of Time release in your time zone?
Nintendo typically doesn’t announce exact release times for its first-party games, and Ocarina of Time is no exception. However, unless stated otherwise, eShop releases launch at midnight in the easternmost time zone of your region. For example, that’d be 12 a.m. on March 5 in New York City, but 9 p.m. PST in San Francisco.

Here’s what that looks like around the world:
- 9 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Nov. 4 for the west coast of North America
- 12 a.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 5 for the east coast of North America
- 12 a.m. BRT on Thursday, Nov. 5 for Brazil
- 12 a.m. GMT on Thursday, Nov. 5 for the U.K.
- 12 a.m. CET on Thursday, Nov. 5 for western Europe
- 12 a.m. JST on Thursday, Nov. 5 for Japan
- 12 a.m. AEDT on Thursday, Nov. 5 for the east coast of Australia
That means you can play Ocarina of Time early if your Nintendo Account is linked to another region. If you want to play early and haven’t linked your account to another region already, however, we recommend just making a new account for that purpose. The process of un-linking and re-registering an existing Nintendo Account is tedious and potentially problematic, since your save data is tied to your account.
Bear in mind that Ocarina of Time is a Switch 2 exclusive. It won’t work on the original Switch.
Zelda Ocarina of Time pre-order bonuses
Certain retailers are running a number of Ocarina of Time pre-order bonuses around the world, but if you’re in the U.S., you only get one: the game case with a special foil art cover. It’s in high demand and has sold out on Amazon, though it’s worth checking places like Walmart, as they’ve had more in stock.
If you’re trying to get the Ocarina of Time Switch 2 console and manage to snag one, don’t forget it’s just the console. It doesn’t come with the game.
