If you or a loved one was caught up in the frustration of Walmart canceling Legend of Zelda Switch 2 console pre-orders at the last minute, the retailer is now trying to make amends—but only for a limited window.

Check the email address used for the original pre-order and you should find a message from Walmart customer service stating that these cancellations were “in error,” along with an item called “Exclusive Reservation” appearing in your cart. Once you proceed to checkout, you’ll secure your console, though the email notes you have just 48 hours to claim it, so don’t delay.
Separately, Walmart is also including a $519 eGift card—the console’s original price—as compensation for the inconvenience, to be used however you like. Perhaps toward the Zelda pro controller, or, I don’t know, groceries.
Hopefully any consoles that do ship arrive in time for the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launching on Switch 2 on November 5.
