Valve has introduced a new feature in beta on Steam designed to help players track their progress through increasingly large achievement and trophy lists. The system lets developers group a game’s achievements into distinct sets, separating base-game content from DLC, expansions, seasons, or other categories.
“Juegos today live longer than ever, continuing to receive updates through new DLC, expansions, and seasons,” Valve wrote in its announcement post. “But achievements added with new game content can be hard to discover and can accidentally break the completion status of players who have already finished the game. We have designed Achievement Sets to help address these types of issues.”

Within each set, developers can assign a separate progress-tracking bar, so players can see how far they have come in one category without it being obscured by another. Valve suggested possible arrangements such as splitting single-player achievements from multijugador ones, or creating one set for the base game alongside individual sets for each DLC or class.
Juegos with rolling seasons can also use temporary sets that only appear as earnable while that content or holiday event is running. According to Valve, this removes the risk of a player being blocked by a hidden achievement tied to content that has since been removed from the game.
The games currently supporting Achievement Sets are:
- Against the Storm
- Age of Wonders 4
- American Truck Simulator
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
- Crusader Kings 3
- Dredge
- Euro Truck Simulator 2
- Forza Horizon 5
- Flock Around
- He is Coming
- Lego Batman: Legacy of the Oscuro Knight
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Portal 2
- PowerWash Simulator
- PowerWash Simulator 2
- Team Fortress 2
- Victoria 3
Alongside the sets, Valve is also beta testing an overhauled achievements page. “The new page gives you a summary of your overall progress, progress in each achievement set, and details on individual achievements,” it wrote. “Global Stats, or the per-achievement completion rates, are now available as a toggle here rather than on a separate page. Buscar has also been expanded with filters for specific achievement sets and for locked or unlocked achievements. Plus, there’s a little extra joy when you complete all your achievement sets.”
The updated page also lets players compare their totals with up to three other users.
To try the Achievement Sets or the redesigned page, players must opt into the Steam Client Beta. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.
