The game transcends mere claw combat, delving into an emotionally resonant original story that revolves around the legendary comic book figure: James “Logan” Howlett, better known as Wolverine.
To set the scene for our Extended Gameplay Trailer, Logan is on a mission to track down a group of mutants who have been pursued and captured by the Reavers – a ruthless cybernetic militia acting as mercenaries. The Reavers aim to deliver these mutants to their client, Bolivar Trask – a wealthy industrialist driven by an extreme conviction in human supremacy. We also introduce another pivotal character in Logan’s journey: Jean Grey, a formidable telekinetic and emerging leader of the captured mutants.
The circumstances are grim, with mutants living in constant fear of those hunting them, while the general public remains oblivious to their existence. The only hope for the mutants lies with Team X, a dwindling mutant special forces unit facing its darkest hour, which Logan rejoins after a three-year absence. For the mutants, the battle for survival is a solitary struggle.
Engage in an exhilarating battle as Logan, the iconic mutant, encounters a formidable foe – the Reavers. Logan utilizes special techniques such as the Tornado Spin and Bull Rush to inflict damage on enemies, while Jean annihilates foes with her potent telekinetic abilities, creating opportunities for Critical Strikes. These devastating finishing moves can be executed solo or in conjunction with other characters, making them a valuable asset during intense combat.
Each successful attack, parry, and kill increases Logan’s Rage. This accumulated fury enables him to launch stronger attacks or activate his Healing Factor to endure severe bodily harm. If pushed too far, Logan can unleash Rage Tier 3 – a dramatic, monochromatic explosion of savagery reminiscent of Marvel Comics’ Black, White, and Blood series.
With the Reavers retreating, Logan is not confined to one location. In one of several thrilling set pieces, Wolverine rides a motorcycle along the highway, destroying trucks, slashing tires, and hurling enemies off the road. He also leaps between vehicles, engaging in combat against any threats the Reavers may throw his way, including powerful Brutes. Despite being bloodied, battered, and on the brink of defeat, Wolverine can summon his rage and activate his Last Stand to revive his Healing Factor, ensuring his survival and solidifying his status as the best there is.
