Sony is kicking off the promotional push for Until Dawn 2, its narrative horror adventure game, which arrives in just a few months.
The PS5 exclusive, developed by Firesprite, launches on 28 January 2027, but players can get a solid look at the game before then, as the company plans to showcase it at a special live event this December.
Until Dawn 2 will make a special appearance at American cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse (which Sony Pictures owns) on 11 December 2026, where attendees will be able to see “an exclusive gameplay showcase” as well as enjoy a horror movie marathon.
The event will also feature “special talent appearances”, presumably meaning that actors from the game will show up in person.
While it is a sequel to the highly successful original game, Until Dawn 2 focuses on a brand-new cast and an entirely different story.
It follows a group of ghost hunters who travel to a remote island after being offered a TV deal to document its mysterious abandoned resort.
Aside from the new premise and characters, this stays very much in the same mould as the first Until Dawn; you follow this group of people and must make choices along the way that can seriously impact the story.
Heavily inspired by horror cinema, this event makes a great deal of sense.
Sony has been quietly building interest in Until Dawn 2 by introducing each character one at a time. With just under three months to go before it lands in our hands, we expect to see plenty more as the release approaches.
