According to a report by VGC, Ubisoft is preparing to shut down studio RedLynx while laying off staff at Ubisoft Singapore, decisions the report attributes to management made during a wider studio review.
The publication reports that Ubisoft previously cut staff at RedLynx in October 2025 and instructed the studio to focus on mobile game projects. It now says Ubisoft is proposing a full closure of the Finnish studio, with around 52 people potentially affected.

RedLynx reportedly has no active game project at present; it had two unannounced games in development as of October. The studio was founded in 2000 and gained recognition for its Trials arcade racing series before being acquired by Ubisoft in 2011.
The report notes that the closure follows wider layoffs earlier this summer, amid strikes at another Ubisoft studio over work-from-home policies.

Ubisoft Singapore is reportedly losing about 70 people. Founded in 2008, the studio worked across a range of Assassin’s Creed games and led development on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. It is best known as the creator of Skull and Bones.
The report comes after dataminers discovered evidence this week of a potential teaser for an Assassin’s Creed 3-related project.
