Two Classic Call of Duty Titles Return to PS4/PS5 This Summer with Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies

Activision has confirmed that the classic titles Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II will finally arrive on PlayStation this July, a move that will bring the franchise’s iconic Cold‑War campaigns, multiplayer modes and zombie maps to both PS4 and PS5 owners.

The announcement, while broad in its reference to “PlayStation,” does not specify whether the releases will be native to each console or a single cross‑compatible build. Treyarch, the original developer, is collaborating with Iron Galaxy—an experienced partner known for platform conversions and compilations—to ensure a polished experience across the hardware spectrum.

Black Ops debuted in 2010, transporting players into the shadowy theaters of the Cold War. Its narrative follows Alex Mason as he pieces together fragmented memories and deciphers a cryptic numerical sequence, weaving a tale of covert operations, conspiracies, and memorable characters such as Frank Woods and Jason Hudson.
