After years of speculation, CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that a third expansion for The Witcher 3 is on the way. Titled Songs of the Past, the new DLC will debut on PlayStation 5 in 2027, with no PS4 version slated.
The studio describes the upcoming content as follows: “Songs of the Past will return players to the role of legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia for a brand new adventure when it launches in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.”
CD Projekt Red is partnering with Fools Theory—known for The Thaumaturge and the ongoing The Witcher 1 remake—to develop the expansion. Further details are expected in late summer 2026.
When it launches, Songs of the Past will add fresh narrative layers to a 12‑year‑old title. The original DLCs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, were released within the first two years of the game’s launch, and this new addition marks the studio’s return to the series after more than a decade.
