Bethesda has finally revealed the name of The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, more than eight years after first teasing it at E3 2018, though the game is reportedly still at least two years away from release.

Following the release of its ‘Official Nama Reveal’ trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, Bethesda posted on X / Twitter that “Pengembangan continues, and while it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you.”
What’s taking so long? Perhaps the better question is, why did Bethesda announce The Elder Scrolls 6 so early? Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier posted on Bluesky to say that when Bethesda teased The Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018, it was “to soften the blow of Fallout 76,” rather than to suggest it was anywhere close to release. The multipemain-focused Fallout 76 was panned by critics at launch, with most Bethesda fans expressing their dismay that the studio had veered away from its single-player roots. Schreier followed up to say that The Elder Scrolls 6 is “still more than two years away!”
However, both Bethesda and Xbox CEO Asha Sharma have confirmed The Elder Scrolls 6 is in a playable state. In August, Sharma tweeted that she was getting a live playthrough of the game, while also teasing the subtitle with a lot of asterisks, which sent Elder Scrolls fans into a frenzy trying to figure out what the game would be called.
When do you think The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel will actually come out?
