Tekken 8 has offered its first in-game glimpse of upcoming guest fighter Yujiro Hanma, the antagonist of the fighting manga Baki and father of its protagonist. The reveal came via a trailer shown during Evo France that teased only his intro animation.
The character is part of Tekken 8’s Season 3 DLC pass, alongside returning veterans Kunimitsu, Bob and Roger Jr. Yujiro was first announced in May through a trailer composed entirely of panels from Baki, leaving questions about how the towering figure would translate into the game’s Unreal Engine 5 graphics.

The newly shown footage displays his characteristic proportions—exaggerated musculature and an unsettling grin—and a striking departure from the rest of the cast. In the manga he is known as “The Strongest Creature on Earth,” a trait that raises questions about how he might be balanced in competitive play.
The article notes that fighting games have previously featured similarly overpowered characters, such as Slayer in Guilty Gear and Saitama in One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. In those cases the designers built in reasons for them to lose—Slayer toys with opponents while Saitama takes time to enter a match. It remains unclear how Yujiro’s unavoidable strength will be handled.
A full gameplay trailer is expected in January, dropping alongside the Tekken World Tour finals.
The piece also draws a parallel between Yujiro and Tekken antagonist Heihachi: both are depicted as harsh fathers who once threw their young children off a cliff to test their resilience.
