The ongoing saga surrounding the leaks of Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title, Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), took a dramatic turn this week. CyberLeek, one of the primary online hubs responsible for disseminating unauthorized gameplay footage and information, appears to have been shut down following legal action from Take-Two Interactive.
CyberLeek Goes Dark
The CyberLeek website is now offline, and its associated Telegram channel has vanished, replaced by a message citing “copyright infringement.” This development follows closely on the heels of Take-Two filed subpoenas”>Take-Two’s legal filings targeting Microsoft and Discord. These subpoenas demanded account data related to individuals potentially involved in the CyberLeek operation.
The leaks, which began circulating earlier this week, have offered glimpses of protagonist Jason in action within Vice City, driving a high-performance vehicle and even engaging in an in-game “leek” shooting sequence – suggesting some kind of playable access to GTA 6″>hinting at the level of unauthorized access. As previously reported by our team, CyberLeek positioned itself as acting in the name of gamer rights, but a closer look revealed a potentially dubious cryptocurrency scheme centered around a $CYBERLEEK meme coin – as Polygon reported”>a tactic designed to generate revenue that was ostensibly intended for “a secret project.”

The Telegram channel’s legitimacy has been a point of contention within the gaming community. Some Redditors”>users on Reddit have claimed that CyberLeek never officially operated a Telegram channel, suggesting that any activity attributed to the account was merely the work of impersonators reposting genuine leaks. However, others maintain that the Telegram and website were the only legitimate channels associated with CyberLeek. Regardless of which platform was authentic, both appear to have been taken down.
It remains unclear whether the takedown is a direct result of Take-Two’s subpoenas or an independent copyright enforcement action. Eurogamer has reached out to Rockstar Games for comment. The crucial question now is whether this marks the definitive end of the leaks, or simply a temporary setback for those responsible.
Despite the ongoing leak situation, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has expressed confidence that it will not negatively impact Grand Theft Auto 6 sales. Pre-orders for the game began last month, and it quickly became a top seller on the PlayStation Store around the world”>bestseller. GTA 6 is still scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, launching on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
