Super Mario Galaxy: Movie Now on YouTube with Latin Dub

bekir May 27, 2026 3 min read 1 views

Super Mario Galaxy: La Película struggled to win over critics and a segment of fans, yet it still emerged as the most triumphant opening of 2026. While its worldwide theatrical run is still in progress, the film is now officially available for streaming on YouTube.

The animated feature, a collaboration between Illumination and Nintendo, continues to perform strongly at the box office and is steadily inching toward the $1 billion milestone in global revenue. Recent weeks have seen a slight slowdown as other high‑profile releases have captured audience attention.

Consequently, Universal Pictures opted to release the film in digital format this month. It is now legally available on YouTube, though a piece of bad news is likely to disappoint a sizable portion of the community.

After a wave of rumors and alleged leaks, the studio behind the cinematic adaptation confirmed that the digital launch would occur on May 19, 2026. Indeed, the animated movie is already accessible on several streaming platforms.

Analysis: The early digital release positions Universal to capitalize on the growing trend of simultaneous theatrical and streaming launches, potentially reshaping revenue models for family‑friendly franchises.

Fans can now enjoy Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie from the comfort of their homes via Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and several other streaming platforms—finally making its way to YouTube.

However, the film starring Anya Taylor‑Joy, Charlie Day, Chris Pratt, Jack Black, and Donald Glover isn’t a free, casual upload on Google’s platform. Viewers must purchase or rent it with real money to access the content.

On YouTube, the movie is offered exclusively in HD quality. Audiences can buy the film for $350 MXN and keep it permanently in their account, or rent it for $290 MXN. If rented, the film remains available for the next 30 days, after which the license expires 48 hours following the first playback.

As of now, it remains uncertain when the animated film without additional charge will be available via a streaming service. The original film from 2023 arrived on Peacock approximately 4 months after its digital release, and another 4 months later joined Netflix’s catalog. It is likely that something similar will occur with the sequel.

Despite the film being available on digital platforms, collectors will have to exercise patience due to the fact that the physical release is still a couple of weeks away. According to Universal Pictures, the Blu-Ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD versions are set to debut on June 16.

Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is gearing up for its home release, but it continues to hold strong in cinemas worldwide. Recent reports reveal that it has already grossed over $980 million globally, making it the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far. It is only $20 million away from becoming the first film of 2026 to reach the $1 billion mark.
