A prominent Twitch streamer has been dropped from his talent agency after refusing to back down from criticizing a fellow agency member over military-sponsored content. FrostPrime, a Slay the Spire content creator with more than 160,000 followers, announced that he had been severed from his representation by GG Talent Group following his refusal to stop talking about Dan Gheesling, another streamer represented by the same agency. The fallout stems from a dispute over Gheesling’s U.S. Army–sponsored streams, and it unfolded publicly across the streaming platform in late September.
The conflict came to a head after FrostPrime released a video on his YouTube channel on September 22, in which he explained that he had been contacted by Eric Harper, the CEO of GG Talent Group. According to FrostPrime, Harper reached out and essentially told him to stop discussing Gheesling, to which he responded with a flat refusal. “I get a message later on that day from the CEO of my agency, essentially telling me to stop talking to Dan, to which I said no,” FrostPrime said. “I said no—I would not stop talking about Dan, because he is a content creator that has been affiliated with my channel for five-plus years.”
A Dispute Over Military Sponsorship
FrostPrime had been criticizing Gheesling’s U.S. Army–sponsored streams in both the streamer’s Twitch chat and his Discord server for some time. The tension escalated after Northernlion, another high-profile streamer, publicly addressed the sponsorship deal in a later stream. “It would be unacceptable if it was just sponsored by the Army, but steeped, head to toe, in the imagery, and making it look so awesome—It’s so far beyond the bounds of what is acceptable to me,” Northernlion said.
