Steins;Gate Re:Boot launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 in North America and Europe this Thursday, October 29, 2026. Видавець Spike Chunsoft and developer Mages had already released the visual novel reboot on PC via Steam on August 20. Physical editions are the exception in the UK and EU, where Spike Chunsoft pushed the Switch 2 and PS5 releases to November 3, while digital editions and the North American physical release remain on October 29.

Дата виходуs and platforms
The Xbox Series X|S version was originally slated for August 20, but Spike Chunsoft moved it to align with the western console release on October 29. Spike Chunsoft’s western listings do not include a PlayStation 4 version, although Japan received the PS4 and every other platform on August 20. The standard and SteelBook physical editions feature new cover art by character designer huke, with a sticker included in the first print run. The game carries an ESRB rating of Mature 17+ and a PEGI 16 rating.
What is new in the reboot
Steins;Gate Re:Boot revisits the 2009 Xbox 360 original with what Spike Chunsoft describes as a completely new look. The scenario is based on Steins;Gate Elite, with smoother pacing, new dialogue, and a brand-new worldline and ending. Series composer Takeshi Abo remade the soundtrack, and the original voice actors re-recorded all Japanese lines.
Text is available in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, while voice acting is Japanese only. Spike Chunsoft also offers a Digital Deluxe Edition that adds a digital visual collection, a digital soundtrack, footage from the Steins;Gate 15th Live One World event with English subtitles, and Steins;Gate Octet of Shifting Space, an ’80s PC-style adventure game. Players who pre-order the Digital Standard Edition on the Nintendo eShop also receive Octet of Shifting Space as a bonus at launch.
How it performs
Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a visual novel, and no frame rate or resolution targets have been published for the console versions. Kiri Kiri Basara’s console review found the PS5 and Switch versions consistent and polished and said they avoid some of the technical issues the Steam release had.
Who it is for
The official game site says the series has sold more than 4 million units worldwide since the first game debuted in 2009. The Steam listing says the reboot is built for both newcomers and longtime fans.
