The buzz surrounding Elementa’s upcoming open-world action RPG, Silver Palace, reached fever pitch at gamescom this year. With over 10 million pre-registrations already secured globally, the game made a splash with a brand new trailer that hinted at a darker, more horror-inspired tone than previously showcased. The reveal of PlayStation 5 support sent shockwaves through the gaming community, solidifying Silver Palace’s ambition to reach a vast audience.
A Glimpse into the World of Silvernia
The new trailer, unveiled during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, opened with a chilling scene in an operating room, setting a distinctly unsettling mood. This stark contrast with the sprawling city filled with winding streets and ornate buildings immediately grabbed attention. We were introduced to the protagonist, the Detective, as they navigated this world of silver and shadows. The trailer showcased glimpses of key characters like Ashley, Gratia, and Red Rose, alongside intense boss encounters and the game’s innovative multiplayer combat experience, “House of Greed.”
At the gamescom booth, fans had the opportunity to get hands-on with a playable demo running on powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 PCs, showcasing the game’s stunning visuals thanks to DLSS 4.5 and Raytracing support. This allowed attendees to truly appreciate the immersive world of Silvernia.
Hands-On Experience: Mystical Worlds and Unique Combat
During our hands-on demo, we were transported to a mystical realm filled with flying silver whales, intricate buildings, and fantastical enemies. The narrative quickly escalated when an assassination attempt on the Queen forced the Detective into a frantic boss battle against two colossal humanoids emerging from a portal. The combat system is fluid and engaging, blending light attacks, ranged options, and powerful ultimate abilities. Dodging and parrying are crucial for survival while maintaining pressure on your opponents.

Later, we explored the city of Silvernia atop a silverwork horse before being thrust into another intense boss encounter against a twisted version of “Cinderella,” who wielded her horse-drawn pumpkin carriage as a weapon! This battle highlighted the game’s unique character-switching mechanic, allowing players to seamlessly transition between different playable characters, each with their own distinct movesets and extravagant ultimate abilities.
Developer Insights: Balancing Light and Shadow
We had the opportunity to speak with the development team at their booth in Cologne to delve deeper into the game’s design philosophy. When asked about the darker tone of the new trailer, they explained that it was a deliberate choice to highlight the contrast between Silver Palace’s elegant, fairy-tale-inspired characters and the unsettling creatures featured within. This juxtaposition creates a unique atmosphere while remaining true to the core world of Silvernia.
Regarding “House of Greed,” the developers confirmed that this multiplayer mode is still in early development but will be an integral part of the main game experience. It features a classic over-the-shoulder camera and third-person shooting mechanics, offering a distinct gameplay experience compared to the main game’s action combat.

The team expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming support from players who have pre-registered and participated in the closed beta tests. They emphasized that player feedback has been invaluable throughout the development process.
